At the new Round Top, TX location Recycling the Past has designed and built a 12,000-square-foot space bringing together green building techniques, unique raw materials, distinctive design and eclectic décor providing the perfect setting for any event.

The Round Top Ballroom’s rustic feel stems from the building’s construction and interior design. The walls of the main hall are lined with recycled tin from an old barn. The walls of the bathrooms, kitchen and mezzanine are made from local salvaged bead board.

The building is characterized by clearstory architectural design with high windows above eye level to bring outside light and fresh air into the inner space. The low-impact design includes salvaged steel factory windows, recycled chicken wire glass and skylights to allow natural light to flood the 40-foot tall palatial structure. And when the sun sets, LED lights keep the party going.

Sixteen-foot fans provide ample air circulation and reflective roofing materials keep the space cool even on the hottest Texas days.

Coming soon, RTP plans to take the Round Top Ballroom completely off the grid with solar power and a rain water retention system.
